We were visiting some lookout points that we found out in a route. All of these were wonderful, but the one that we liked the most were via cruxis, val del omar and the lookout point of isabel 1 de castilla. This route is around 10 kilometters long.

gastronomy of loja:

the gastronomy of loja is based on the mediterranean diet. Vegetables are included in loja's dishes, combined with fishes, specially with the trouts of riofrío, lambo or kid. Some of the loja's typical dishes are not frequently prepared nowadays and they are only prepared during the popular festivities of the city, specially during san marcos day. Also we have to mention the famous merengue donunts of loja.

Riofrío:

At 6 km from loja we found Ríofrio, a borough that belongs to loja. You can get to riofrio from loja following a beautiful road that goes along Vadillo river. We recomend to you do it by bike but you can also do it by foot, because it's not too long. The road starts at the chorrillo park where you can visit the chorreras expanse throug a path with footbridges and stairs that are near the river. The river form beautiful waterfalls. Riofrio is famous because it is one of the few places in spain where sturgeon is raise and caviar is produced (the caviar are the eggs og the sturgeons).
